About The Singers—Minnesota Choral Artists

AUDITIONS FOR 2008-2009 CONCERT SEASON

Auditions for all voice parts (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) will be held during May 2008. To schedule an audition, please e-mail a choral/vocal resume to Nathan Knoll, Director of Operations, at office@singersmca.org . An audition will then be scheduled. Singers will be notified within 48 hours whether or not they will be offered a callback audition.

The fifteen-minute auditions will include one prepared art song (any language, no jazz/gospel/showtunes please), sight-reading (tonal and atonal), tonal memory, and general vocalizations. An accompanist is required for the art song presentation. If you do not have an accompanist you can use the staff pianist from The Singers for a $10 charge. You will need to notify us if you plan on using our accompanist.

Auditions will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Minnetonka (www.ihm-minnetonka.org for directions).

If you are selected to become a member of The Singers, you will be required to purchase the concert attire at your own expense. Men wear a tuxedo and women wear a coordinated dress. Specific details for the 2008-2009 season will be available prior to the season start.

Rehearsals are held in Minneapolis on Monday and Thursday evenings (7:00-10:00 pm), although Thursday rehearsals will only occur approximately twice per rehearsal sequence.

Every member of The Singers—Minnesota Choral Artists will receive financial compensation for each rehearsal and performance.
