Abbie Betinis | First Ladies Suite (World Premiere)
Jocelyn Hagen | amass (excerpts)
Word Premiere works to be selected from a call for scores
During The Singers’ first nine seasons, 62 works were given a world premiere performance. This concert celebrates our commitment to the composers of today, including two of our Composers-in-Residence, Abbie Betinis and Jocelyn Hagen. Betinis’ choral cycle on texts by First Ladies (including Eleanor Roosevelt, Abigail Adams, and Edith Wilson) will be performed for the first time in its entirety. Hagen’s amass was one of the largest projects we have undertaken, and we are proud to bring back some of its magical a cappella moments. The rest of the program will be world premiere performances of works drawn from an international call for scores.
