Dulci Jubilo: New Christmas Recording Coming Soon!

We are very pleased to share with you this second Christmas recording from The Singers.  In 2004 our debut recording, Shout the Glad Tidings, was released to correspond with the choir’s first concerts. That collection has been beloved by our local audiences and around the world thanks to the advances of modern technology. We have long recognized the need for a follow-up Christmas album that focuses solely on traditional carols, and now in 2012, we are thrilled to release Dulci Jubilo: Christmas with The Singers.
The Singers’ annual Christmas concerts have been unique in that every program has included brand new arrangements of favorite carols from around the globe. Beyond the many settings by their Artistic Director, The Singers have premiered works by composers-in-residence Abbie Betinis, Jocelyn Hagen, and Joshua Shank, as well as Stephen Paulus, J. Aaron McDermid, Timothy Takach, Robert Sieving, Drew Collins, and Paul Rudoi. Many of these carols are bound to make appearances on our future recordings!
We are very proud to include so many works by Minnesota composers, as that has been an integral part of The Singers’ identity. Ten of these tracks were even written specifically for The Singers! Only Dale Grotenuis, who sadly passed away during production of this album, called another state home. (Of course, it was Iowa, our southern border state!

We hope that this recording becomes a part of your own Christmas soundtrack for years to come!
