Conductor’s Corner – Spring 2014
It has been a remarkable and meaningful season of music making with The Singers! We all knew that the 10th Anniversary Season would be full of great music, but the growth in our audiences, and the enthusiasm of our supporters has also grown noticeably. For all this, I am very grateful!
The choir and I are now preparing for MY SOUL’S REPOSE in April, and then a Gala in early May followed by a concert of new music at the end of the same month. LOTS of great works yet to be encountered! Check out our concerts page to see more details, including titles and composers.
Then – more big news – The Singers will be making another trip to the renowned Ravinia Festival this summer! We are honored by the invitation, and along with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, we are only the second MN-based classical organization to make repeat trips to Chicago for this unique and beloved summer destination. We will be singing music of Poulenc, Tavener, Howells, Durufle, and Lauridsen…. anyone up for a summer getaway?!
– ‘Til soon,
Matthew
