This is a “PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN” event, focusing on Damien Geter’s work “Cantata for a More Hopeful Tomorrow.”
This is a 60-minute event that explores the text, music, and impetus of this landmark new work. Geter’s piece is meant to depict the devastating effects of COVID-19 on the Black community, and he uses music of J.S. Bach, the African-American Spiritual, and texts of Walt Whitman and modern voices. The Singers will also perform a handful of music from their concert “A More Hopeful Tomorrow.”
